I’ve been wanting to try out textured effect nail polish for a while but didn’t want to spend a fortune without knowing whether I’d be really into it first. Most of the textured and special effect polishes I’ve loved the look of are from Nails Inc which retail at £15, but this felt like a big investment. Whilst perusing the beauty counters at Boots one day I came across this Seventeen Off the Wall Graffiti Nail Effects which looked really cool and was only £3.99!
I wasn’t sure how this polish would look once applied but I was not disappointed! It’s fun and edgy, goes on easily and I didn’t have to fuss with it much to get the effect I wanted. The first coat I tried didn’t look too sparse but I wanted a bit more of a splattered look so I ended up going for a second coat.
I used Maybelline Dr Rescue Peel-Off Base Coat (£2.99 – available at Superdrug and Boots) because I knew, from past experiences with glitter polish, that it can be a b*tch to remove with just acetone and a cotton ball!

To get this effect I used Topshop Matte Nails in Milk and Honey as a base and Sally Hansen Double Duty as a top coat.
I’m totally hooked on graffiti nails now and can’t wait to delve deeper into the world of special effects polishes. Suggestions on brands and colors are most welcome!
