Granary Square, Regent’s Canal Walk & Camden Lock Market
Last Sunday my sister and I met up for one of our usual catch-ups over brunch. We had an indulgent meal at Grain Store in Granary Square near Kings Cross. I had the pancakes which were light, fluffy and delicious! My sister had avocado toast (the gluten-free version, which she said was very tasty although the bread was a bit dry).
It was a beautiful, sunny day so we decided to take a walk along the canal path from Granary Square to Camden market and enjoyed the urban nature, watching the boats amble by and even saw one of the locks in use!
Once we got to Camden we made our way through the food market – so many foodies, stalls and delicious things to choose from – there was delicious Indian food with lamb so soft it melted like butter from Sonita’s Kitchen, Colombian street food, Paella, Argentinian grill, cakes, Ethiopian food and so many more!
We came across Soda Bar which makes the most delicious sodas from fresh ingredients. I had a cucumber soda and my sister had a lovely pineapple concoction. Perfectly refreshing after a long amble along the canal.
The Old Vic – Groundhog Day
Earlier in the week we celebrated my sister’s 22nd Birthday by going to the theatre. To say that my sister loves the theatre is an understatement… she always has good recommendations and had recently heard about Groundhog Day The Musical at the Old Vic, so off we went.
I wasn’t sure what to expect – especially being such a huge fan of the original 1993 movie with Bill Murray – I couldn’t envision it as a musical. But it was amazing! The music by Tim Minchin was hysterical, the staging was extremely clever and the actors were fantastic. I highly recommend going to see it!
