A Little Bit of Bling

I love the idea of bling nails! It’s such a fun way to inject some sparkle and dazzle into an every day manicure. I chose to go for an elegant, neutral palette but in the future I definitely want to experiment with some brighter hues.

This being my very first ever attempt at applying nail crystals I was a little nervous but it actually worked out really well! I started off by applying a base coat (Nail Whitener by Hema – £4.25) followed by two coats of Barry M Coconut Infusion in Sunkissed (£4.99) which has the loveliest, creamy consistency.

I allowed the polish to dry slightly before applying the crystals with tweezers (also from Hema – approx. £3.50 for 1 sheet – which was enough to completely cover the nail on my ring finger and pinky). Once the polish was completely dry I finished by applying Maybelline Super Stay 3D Gel Plumping Top Coat (£4.99). I put a few extra coats over the crystals to make sure they stayed in place.

I thought the crystals would fall off after a few days but they lasted much longer than I expected – they even withstood dish washing and other everyday wear!
