Something in the air definitely changed this week – the wind is a little chillier, the leaves have slowly started to turn gold and fall from the trees. Autumn is on the horizon. After a trip to the farmer’s market yesterday I stocked up on some gorgeous fresh, organic vegetables and herbs and made a big batch of ragu.
I don’t want to eat pasta or courgetti everyday, so I decided to mix it up and used some leftovers to make a hoagie which is a perfect and easy lunch for a grey and cloudy Sunday!
I sliced a piece of baguette in half and lightly toasted it in the oven on low for a few minutes before filling it with ragu. I chopped up some lovely black olives and sprinkled with oregano and grated Parmesan cheese.

Luckily for me, yesterday morning was sunny and cool so my trip to the farmers market was lovely. I love being inspired by fresh produce! After the market I headed over to the Chelsea Physic Garden which was extra special because it’s not open on Saturdays – but my mom (who works there) needed to pick up her bike.
It was amazing to be there when it’s quiet. Not a soul around… only the birds singing and the rustle of wind through the leaves.
I made it home just in time before the rain started and settled in for an afternoon of reading wrapped up in a warm blanket while listening to the raindrops pitter-patter on the windows. Bliss!
